Remove the ashtray and reach behind the cig lighter you should feel a nut you take the nut loose and the cig lighter comes right out just unplug the wires and plug them on to the new one. and if you get your new cig lighter first you will get the idea of what i am talking about the nut

Where is the fuse for the cig lighters on a 2008 dodge ram 1500 act located ? Is there anything else that would cause them to both stop work at the same titiine?

I'm not familiar with your truck, but, from reading up there is an aux socket in center console and then cig sockets. These are seperate circuits, centre is perm powered, cig sockets not.

When you say more than one has stopped, is it 2 x cig or 1 x cig and 1 x console?

I'd be checking the fuse and relay box under the hood, front wing sort of location (depends on year and such so I may be off here) for some circa 20 amp fuses (yellow in uk).

found this, which may or may not be the right numbers as is a different year perhaps:

Your cigarette lighter is powered by fuse #29 in the integrated power module. The power outlet is powered by #26 and if the power outlet in the center console is not working, this one is #42

I need to know wat the orange wire is on a 2004 dodge ram 1500 stereo

If it is an orange wire with white trace, this wire is used for dimming the brightness when you turn the lights on.....normally connected to the illumation wire...sometimes to the cig lighter illumination or dah illumation wiring........

I need to know what fuse works my cigarette lighter on a 2004 dodge ram 1500

it should say lighter on fuse box cover to manually find it plug something in to lighter such as radar detecter and pull fuses one by one till it goes off. If your just looking for a burnt out lighter fuse remove them one by one till you find it.

Cig lighter fuse blew. renewed but cig lighter and remote key not

you probably didnt change the right fuse and had another one blown at the same time you also could have a primary fuse under the hood that blew. once fixed dont use pump again. not same amps drawn

My cigarrete lighter doesnt work, so i think i blew a fuse, but i dont have the fuse cover so i dont know which fuse it is i need to change so please just get me the fuse i ened to change caus ei need that...

all you need to do is buy a cheep test light in the 5-10 range. ground the test light and touch the metal in the fuse you do not need to take the fuse out. check both sides of the fuse you will see 2 metal pices on the back of the fuse were it tells you how many amps the fuse is. that is what you touch with the test light. the light should light up if not the fuses are bad. if the fuse is good take the test light and ground it again you can clip it to the side of the cig lighter socket. and put the test light prob into the cig lighter socket becarefull not to touch the sides of the socket and just touch dead center bottom and if the test light does not light up you know your Cig socket has burnt out

Need to replace the fuse for the cigarette lighter

I dont happen to have one of those diagrams, but if you pull the fuses one by one and replace the burnt ones you should be able to 1.) Identify what item is on what circuit (for the most part) and 2.) solve your original problem with your cigarette lighter. Hope this gives you some direction. Thanks for Using FixYa!

Sincerely,

Lighter stopped working,

The Cigarette lighter is run off of a 20A fuse located in the engine compartment just behind the battery. The fuse map will say P-Out and is in position #14. Hope that helps.

All the fuses have been checked. One fuse was blown but it was the 20 amp power outlet, I believe for the outlet under the cig lighter.
