Question about 2003 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

The car would not start, control lights do not shine

In winter I was driving only a little (shopping, to hospital etc.)Then it was impossible to open the doors of my Hyundai Accent car by automatic distant driver and I had to open the doors only by the key but I could start and drive normally. In the end the starting has been impossible and no control light is on. I suppose that the battery is over and I have to buy a new one.

Perhaps it's the battery.. perhaps it's just the connections to it. Whatever you want to do. Inspect it yourself, or have a professional diagnosis it. The causes to the problem you describe is NUMEROUS!... BEST SOLUTION (if you don't/can't do it yourself), Take/tow the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.). However, if you want to try and fix it yourself, Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.

Does it start right back up ? Or do you need to let it sit for a little bit ? Some electronic Parts , ignition control modules , engine control modules ,coil packs etc.. when hot ,due to a break down in internal electronics will act like this . The first thing i would do if this vehicle came to my shop , Check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , an check engine sensor data . Coolant sensor problem ,crankshaft position sensor etc... Why does my rodeo diesel 2.8l 99 model when cold starts at accessories point & glow plug light stays on longer?

sounds as though the cylinder,s etc are a bit clogged up, try some diesel fuel addative,as with all diesel engines if they do not get long and regular journeys the glow plugs, injectors etc get clogged ,as the engine does not get hot enough to burn these deposits off on short stop start types of journey's . you are possibly looking at replacing the glow plugs but give the addative a try and if possible take for a long drive 2-3 hours at steady highish speed , ok to repeat the addative and long drive once more ,if no improvement will need to go into the repair shop to have the glow plugs seen to at the very least , good luck

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus x that went into limp mode while I was pulling onto a 4 lane highway. Nearly hit by semi this is not a "safe mode" The traction control light started blinking and the...

I have run into this on several fords this winter. What I have found in all of them is that a speed sensor had not necessarily failed but was no longer providing the correct information. The traction control saw this as "wheel spin" and started to apply the brakes to the wheels that where "spinning" although they where not.

Since this happened from a dead stop the ABS would not see the fault because all of the sensors started at 0 mph and only one stayed at 0mph and according to the programming this is perceived as wheel spin.

The pop and grind was the abs system kicking in. The traction control system uses the ABS system to control wheel spin.

If the system did not act up at the shop than there is no way they will be able to resolve it until it happens for them. All the ones I have dealt with have had no trouble codes but the symptoms where present and like you found out nearly impossible move (to pull into the shop)

Controlled by a liftgate control module . A bad sensor input to the module is probably the cause . If you know nothing of automotive electronic's (control module's ) your best bet mite be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

Dash lights

This might sound like a dumb question, but I've done this myself: Is it possible that the dimmer switch is turned down? If not, check the fuse for the insturment/gauges, if that is ok then you can check to see if the ground wire came off under the dash. Lastly, if all else is ok, replace the headlight switch. They can partially still work for the other things, like the headlights, taillights, etc....and not work for the others, like your dash. I sincerely hope that I could help. Best wishes.

Running shut off problems.

It sounds to me like you have a bad sensor somewhere.
Problem is there are so many it would be almost impossible to tell you which one.
When you start a car cold, it is in open loop until it reaches operating temperature, meaning not all of your sensors are being monitored.
When you get up to temp, and go into closed loop, one of your sensors is most likely giving a DTC.
Btw is your service engine light on?
Best advice i can give you is take it to a shop and have them hook a scan tool up to it, and check your codes and your sensors.

Hopefully this narrows down your problem a little more.

Obd system diagnostic trouble code rejection

IPD, the indy authority on all things Volvo says this is an actual emmission control device. Especially during cold starts/winter. Have this system thoroughly checked at a Volvo dealer or Indy Volvo shop. Could be pump, valve, hoses, etc. But make them show you the faulty part and explain to you how they diagnosed it. This will help you know you are not being ripped. PLus they should take it for test drive(s) to make sure P0410 does not reset.
