1. Turn ignition switch on but don't start the engine. Push ENG MET button on the trip monitor ONE time.

2. Press ENG MET one more time within 5 seconds. Within 5 seconds press and hold the RANGE button (90-94) or the GUAGE button on 95 Vettes, you will see the light start to flash

3. When light stops flashing the CHANGE OIL LIGHT has been reset

Why does the Change Oil light stay on 15 seconds after starting car?

Try re-setting the oil change light and see if it quits. Should re-set itself. Not oil sending unit, that tells computer and light when there is a problem like no oil pressure.

Oil can light stays on

Run a Scan on it first but also check the Oil Pressure Sending Unit and the actual Oil Pressure with a Mechanical Gauge. You may have a bad oil pump.

Oil pressure light stays on even though the oil level is fine

That could be from not having any oil pressure "oil pump failure, clogged filter, etc" or from a faulty oil pressure sending unit. More tests would need to be performed but is it really an oil pressure light or is it the change oil light. More info would be needed

Oil light stay on jaguar 2003 s type

That would indicate either a faulty oil pressure sensor or that the oil pressure is low. This would be caused by a faulty oil pump, partially blocked oil lines or lack of oil. Check and re-check oil levels whilst the vehicle is on a flat piece of road. Check you have the right oil dipstick for the car (it may have been replaced with a longer oil dipstick which would give you a false reading) or even that the engine may have been changed at some time! make sure you have used oil of the right viscosity (check the owners manual). If that doesn't fix it then give the engine a good flush out with flushing oil to clean out the oil feed system. refill with fresh oil. If that doesn't sort it, change the oil pressure sensor. (on the engine block). Get the engine diagnostics readout done to see if there are any error codes stored. If you still have problems then it may be the oil pump which will cost a lot of money to change!

The check engine light is on everything is ok on

In most later vehicles, that light may stay on for a fixed number (it can be 5-50, we have both) of startups of the engine or many have to be manually reset. The engine can't tell the computer that it has fresh oil but will turn the light on after some finite mileage since the last reset for periodic maintenance items such as your oil change, but some items can't reasonably reset the computer; it has to be told that the oil was changed.
Check your manual to find how to reset that warning light and if you no longer have the manual for your vehicle, you can download a copy of it from the Ford website.

You need to put the key on and push the gas pedal to the floor three times within five second to reset the oil life light. Some g.m.'s have a reset buttom in the fuse panel that needs to be pushed first and some don't.Check the owners manual under change oil for your specific year car.

Two month ago my engine light came on and two days later my oil gage came on too i did the oil change and the engine light wen away now i have the same problem with the engine light the first time i did...

A few items come to mind...first, check engine oil for fuel contamination. If you're not sure after a "smell test",
Put a drop on a piece of looseleaf paper. Put a drop of fresh unused oil on another paper. If the old oil forms a wider stain that seems to have a "halo" around it, when compared to the fresh oil, most likely it has fuel in it.When doing these tests use only cold oil. Warm oil will spread faster and give a false reading.
Do a simple "rub test" wipe the dipstick between your thumb and forefinger and rub your fingers together. Repeat with fresh oil. If there is a substantial difference in the "oilyness" between the two, then the oil has broken down. The difference will be extremely obvious if fuel contaminated.
If you determine a fuel problem exists, it likely is from a leaking injector. If the oil is just deteriorated, try using a better quality oil, and definitely nothing with a 5w first number (unless it's a full synthetic). I'd use a 40 as the second number.

Check oil light stays on even after a full oil change

The oil pan has a sensor in it that need to be replaced. It screws in and you may lose some oil.
