Question about 1999 Toyota Camry

1999 toyota camry. I dont get anything when I put the key in the ignition and turn it. No lights, no dings...nothing. just went and bought new battery...still nothing

Had the same problem get your auto elctrician to look at the line of codes from the imoboliser i had it happen to me when i repaced the battery some how the imoboliser gets stuffed up and shuts it all down the auto elec if he's worth his salt should have ya back on the road inan hour

Make sure the battery is in correct ,,,plus sign to the red cable and minus to the black ,,,,other than that the cables could be loose or that new batt is dead,,,,,you should have some power if all those are correct

First check to make sure the battery cables and ground cables are tight then check the ignition relay and fuses

nothing (is nothing cant turn it at all or nothing can get ignition or crank positon)
it's the steering lock, latch?
new cars, dont have it , most older cars do.

I have a 1999 toyota camry and my key in the ignition cylinder wont turn i moved steering wheel and its on park do ineed to replace ignition cylindern


If the key will not turn the lock cylinder and you have removed the switch, you probably need a new cylinder.

Starter Fuse Keeps Blowing When I Try To Start My 2001 Camry


The starter has gone to ground. This is either a coincidence of age or the repair shop left something disconnected that has slapped around and grounded the starter or some of their other work has shifted around and done it. It could just be a coincidence. If it went to ground internally, it will need replacing. If something shifted and grounded it out, putting that something where it belongs and THEN replacing a fuse should fix it. Most shops reuse your starter on their new engine.

The battery is either bad or the starter brush has chopped down bad.

Engine cut out while driving. Would turn over, no start.


If it were mine, I would check to see that there is fuel to the engine and the ignition system is working.

how warn down are the keys? from wear and tear the do eventually wear down till they dont work try that, or if it is cold out side then try putting it in some heat it could be froze if that dont work.... BUY A DODGE!!! lol
