Question about 1996 Isuzu Trooper

1 Answer

Drivers window detached from mechanism

I did the classic "try to roll down a window that's frozen shut" over the winter. Heard the regulator break free from the window, I'm assuming at one end. I say this because the window would still roll up/down, but would tip forward in the track until the regulator was almost all the way up and would hold it level. Earlier this week, it jammed and broke completely free from the regulator. If I try to roll it down at all, it'll drop completely into the door. I've bought a new motor/regulator assembly, but teh manual only says how to detach the assembly from the door, not the window. How it teh regulator attached to teh window?

1991cadiliac seville how to put front driverside window back on track

When your window is frozen shut, and you try to clear the snow or ice by rolling it down, you risk detaching the piece from the window that connects it to the up/down arm.
Take it to an auto glass repair place. Let them take the door panel apart for you and replace the broken piece for you---it's harder to do yourself than you think.

Why do the power windows on the drivers side roll half way down?

I have heard of this problem when the window regulator has been changed or disconnected from the car. There is a procedure you need to do before you install it (I don't know exactly what the procedure is).

Driver and passenger power windows quit

Do they not work with either switch(does passenger side work with passenger side switch?)If so you may have a bad connection on the switch on the drivers door.If not you may have a bad relay or fuse.A mistake alot of people make in the winter time is try to put the window down when they are frozen shut. You can easily break the plastic parts in a power window this way.

Chevy Malibu 2005 window wont roll up or down.

Sounds like the window regulator broke (the mechanism that moves your window up and down). It has cable to do the lifting the window up and pulling the window down. These cables do break.

WHEN I ROLL UP THE DRIVER FRONT WINDOW IT GOES UP THEN ROLLS HALF WAY DOWN BY ITSELF

Hi there,

If manual window winder

Your driver's window glass may have come off the regulator mechanism.

If electric window control

The glass may have detached from the regulator or the regulator cable has unwound itself off the mechanism (ie tension during upward motion, but loose when motor stops winding).

Your driver's door panel will need to be removed to inspect your window regulator operation.

Got in my car, went to roll down the window and heard a pop. Then the window rolled all the way down and now it won't roll up.

Sounds like the window track fell off the window regulator. Sometimes you can replace the roller that goes between regulator & motor, but most times you will need to replace window regulator. Take off interior door panel & see which option is possible.

the plastic part of the window regulator has broken I think on that year the motor and regulator come as a one piece replacement unit and are fairly easy to install,if you remove the inner panel you should be able to see the broken piece when you try to cycle the window.Good luck

How to fix my drivers side window the motor is still good i think its off track or a broken clip it will always roll down but will not go up past a certain point you have to pull it up and wedge something...

Hi, this is a common fault with these cars. The window regulator is broken. There are two ways to repair the fault, you can either replace the regulator (£90) or fit a repair kit (£30). The retailers tend to fit the entire regulator as this is less costly because it takes less time to fit. If you are reasonably confident mechanically instuctions for repair are readily available on the net.
Hope that helps Matt..
