Question about 1996 Chevrolet Suburban
I have just replaced the plug wires, spark plugs and cap. At times the truck runs beautiful and then all of the sudden it starts skipping, then the check engine light comes on and the truck will skip for miles. Out of the blue it will stop skipping and the check engine light will go off. Now the truck runs beautiful again. There can be times when I start the truck and it will be skipping and a lot of smoke will come out the exhaust. This is the reason why I changed the plugs and wires. I went to AutoZone where they put it on a machine, it came up saying it was the number two cylinder that is causing the problems. What could this possibly be, injector??
Make sure you have the correct plug wires going to the correct cylinders. sounds simple enough but my friend made the same mistake on his 98 tahoe and he's been a professional mechanic for 15 yrs
