I need to clarify you said you know it hasn't blown a gasket

How did you test it to make sure you didn't because

it sounds to me you have either a blown gasket and or a warped head.

If your getting build up on the cap then Ill guarantee that its one the other or both .

You need to check your compression and possibly do a leak down test on your engine.

Do you notice any blow by in your oil fill or

any bubbling in your radiator ?

It could be the first signs of the engine getting ready to go .

It also could be but not very likely your supercharger has problems

there are oil and water passages in the supercharger that will do the same thing

.

Drain oil ASAP. That's like having no oil in the car. Oil pump cant pick it up. Could damage motor!

Knock out sensor

unless your xterra is supercharged, you really do not need to replace it. its a lot of work, because its located way down under the upper plenum and lower intake. its way down there. if it is supercharged, you do need to replace it, because it puts the supercharger into fail safe mode and truck till not run to its full potencial.

I have a 97 supercharged the oil light keep comin stay on while Im driven the oil is full

The oil light is for low oil pressure, not low oil.
You need to have someone check the actual oil pressure with a mechanical gauge or change the oil pressure switch and see it the light still comes on.

White smoke...not missing but runs rough. No knocked or noise. Just replaced lower intake gasket. No coolant in oil or vice versa. Not overheating or low on anything. What could it be? Only has 38490...

WHITE SMOKE IS USUALLY COOLANT BEING BURNT UP
SMELL THE EXHAUST IF SWEET SMELL TO IT THAT IS IT
USUALLY HEAD GASKET FAILURE
PULL SPARK PLUG TO DETERMINE WITCH SIDE IS BURNING
THE PLUG WILL BE WITHISH DEPOSIT
MAY ALSO BE CAUSED BY INTAKE GASKET NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY
DOUBLE CHECK INTAKE FIRST MAKE SURE PORTS AND ORIENTATION IS CORRECT
BEFORE PULLING HEADS

I have a 2002 nissan xterra with a supercharger. The truck started smoking after a noise form the SC and lost power...Any thoughts on what might be causing this...

it sounds like there is a problem with the supercharger that needs repair or replacing depending on what has been damaged.the smoke is from the charger blowing oil into the motor.i would say the super charger will need to be replaced and hopefully there is no engine damaged.

2004 nissan xterra supercharge there is a noise in the turbo and im not sure what is causing this noise eighter the pully or a barring inside the turbo.

Superchargers are notorious for going through bearings. However to narrow it down take a spray bottle of water and as the car is running squirt some water on the pulley .If the noise goes away for a bit then its the pulley if not then it may be coming from the supercharger bearings. You can take them apart if you're handy and change the bearings out,if not its off to your local garage I'm afraid.Good Luck

Im looking at purchasing an 02 GTP but my mechanic friends tell me to stay away from them because the superchargers have issues? are they right?

Remanufactured nose drive kits consisting of nose cone, drive pulley, lubricant,
sealant and coupler are available. The nose kits are an excellent alternative to replacing an
entire supercharger when dealing with low mileage bearing noise or leaky seal concerns.

This was from a service bulletin in June 2003.

Supercharger maintenance

On the let front of the Supercharger there is a small level plug that is eay to remove, Whatever you do,,,do not overfill. The oil is only available through the dealer at about seven dollars for a couple of ounces. Takes about ten minutes. Good luck
