Question about 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan

1 Answer

Transmission problem - the computer says nothing is wrong.

The transmission on our 2002 Eurovan Weekender started slipping and then failed altogether. The dealer said that we had a leak and replaced the pan and the oil. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. For some reason the sensors are not saying that there is a problem. The van has 52,000 on it. Any ideas?

2002 Cadillac Escalade transmission slipping, what's the cause?

When a transmission slips- it already has internal
damage & you driving it that way, leaves only one option

A $4,000 rebuild

Then maybe more diagnostics, to find out what started all that

Being a 2002 --it is well worn out anyway

If you failed to change the fluid every 2 or 3 years since new

That maybe why it failed also, most common reason for trans
failure

Where is the speed sensor located on a 2002 Chrysler Concorde

Beware speed sensors seldom fail. Chrysler products transmission have a limp mode where they only shift to second gear when something goes wrong and many times when nothing is wrong. If the speedometer fails it goes to limp. If an OBD scan gives a transmission code sometimes clearing the code will end the problem. When driving if the transmission shifts one time as it should the sensor is working.

This is no transmission sensor problem, it is a mechanical issue in the transmission.

Problem with 1995 Toyota Camry automatic transmission. Was driving along and it just quit. No bangs, clunks, slipping, noises or problems of any kind and no hint of anything wrong. Any ideas if this is...

it indicates that the torque converter clutch servo/solenoid has failed or TCM has failed
first point to check is the wiring and harness connections
a workshop manual for the vehicle will show the units
check that it hasn't blown an oil line to the cooler and emptied the transmission

Hi I have a 2002 525i BMW,two days ago while I was driving the computer in my dasboard warned me that says 'transmission fail safe' and the car kind of slipping however it still runs with no problem on...

That is most likely the case, hopefully it just needs transmission fluid. It does give a warning when the fluid is low. I would certainly start with that.

The Drive light flashes and the car loses power and sometimes won't start

D light flashing means that there is something wrong with the automatic transmission, have the vehicle scanned to understand the origin of the failure. Car losing power is consistent with a transmission that fails to change to lower gears, but has nothing to do with failure to start, that i can think of. Remember that 1998/2002 Accord auto transmissions are notoriously weak, and rarely reach 80000 miles.

Car slipping in uphill acceleration is it my tires or something more is wrong with it?

Hi,
If the engine is revving but your not going forward then it sounds like your clutch is slipping if it is a manual, or the clutch packs are worn if it is an automatic transmission. Either way the clutch or transmission will need to be repaired or replaced. Hope this helps, let me know how you get on.
