When do I change the timing belt of a 2004 nissan quest

Nissan recommends replacement of the timing belt and water pump at 84 months or 105K miles whichever comes first. ALWAYS replace the water pump at the same time as the timing belt or you will be out the same amount of labor in 2-3 months when the pump goes bad after the timing belt replacement.

Water pump replacement

Hi ,here's a guide on how to do,I have a 85 Nissan 720 4x4,just replaced my water pump,The guide isn't just right,to get to the bolts holding the fan on,we'll the radiator needs to come out, just 4 bolts, maybe 10 minutes. The pump is kind of hard, cause of the way the bolts are.I also replaced my 3 belts, thermostat and both coolant sensors at thermostat housing and radiator cap,the temperature sender broke apart, gauge wouldn't work, lasted 28 years.Had mine 20 years.Check out mine. Here's a site for 720 owners, join,it's free,I'm a member.

1986 Nissan z24 timing chain tensioner popped out and I can get it started back into the bore, but hangs up after 1/8 inch and won't go in further. Does this tensioner require turning to re-insert? If...

If that is a gas filled tensioner, it has lost it's umph, so you will need to replace it. When they are new, it is impossible to move with your fingers, and real hard with a blown one. So what you are hitting is the spring I would think. But now that you have the covers off, how about that belt? Water pump? You might as well get them done, you got it open. Careful with the cams, don't let them move, and get a belt with marks on it, or mark the old one before taking it off and line it up to the new one, make the marks, put the belt back on with the marks lined up, pull the pin on the tensioner, all set.

1986 300zx fan belt replacement...can't get belts off

You need the release tension on the driven accessories, alternator, power steering pump, smog pump MULTIPAL BELTS.

If it is a single SERPENTINE belt there will be an idler that is spring loaded and will release the tension on the belt.

ALWAYS NOTE HOW THE BELT(s) ARE ROUTED make a detailed drawing you will forget it happens to me all the time.

You have a timing chain no belt. Changing is not necessary unless there is a failure. Water pump will need changing when it leaks.
