First loosen and, remove one of the hoses that go to the sprayer then operate the wiper pump you should see the fluid come out of the hose. if it does not come out and, no sound is made from the pump check your fuses if the fuse is ok (find the fuse location in your user manual ) replace the pump motor you can get a replacement at an autoparts store. don't forget to replace the hose.

What the answer doesn't say is that replacing the pump motor is a major job, requiring the removal of the right front wheel, splash guard, and other items, just to access the pump. And removing a hose at the sprayer requires removal of the insulating blanket on the inside of the hood. However, there's a connector near the top of the compressor, just below the top of the cowl, that can be disconnected. If the pump is operating and the fender hose isn't clogged or broken you should see fluid come out of this hose when you activate the washer. That will prove that the pump is operating, and that the problem is with either the hose above the connector or the nozzles are clogged.

Wind shield washing fluid, what is it made of?

washer fluid is simply clean fresh water with a grime busting additive added by you when refilling the bottle. Fill the bottle with clean fresh water and add the detergent in the proportion as on the bottle.( windscreen cleaner --not washing up detergent---too corrosive on the metal and paint work)

My windshield wiper motor works, but washer does not work/

I would start by checking fuses. If you've checked already, then the windshield washer pump has probably gone bad. The wiper motor and washer pump should be separate units. Typically the washer pump is located in the base of the washer fluid reservoir.

The windshield washer will not shoot fluid on to windshield is it the Fuse

It may not be your fuse, your windshield fluid reservoir has a pump that when you activate the switch it pumps the fluid to spray your windshield. The fuse box should be located in the engine compartment on the left hand side or the right hand side of the engine.

Windshield washer not working

  1. check your windshield washer fluid level.
  2. make sure you can hear the fluid pump operating when you operate the switch.
  3. If you can hear the pump working and you have fluid in the reservoir but still no spray,
  4. check the washer fluid lines don't have holes and aren't clogged or pinched. check the sprayer nozzles make sure they are not clogged with debris.
  5. if your washer still doesn't work your fluid pump is probably the problem.

Washer fluid wont spray

To check to see if pump is working, remove hose at windshield and turn on and see if fluid comes out,if it does then part that shoots it to windshield is clogged,a tooth pick may work to pry it loose and come out,if no fluid comes out, then pump is bad,you can check to see if pump is getting power with a meter.

My 2006 Dodge Dakota windshield washer fluid does not spray. I checked the washer pump and it works. The fuses are all good. And the wipers work. When I press the windshield washer button inside the truck...

If the pump works, something should be flowing thru the hose to the spray nozzles.
And if the pump works, everything electrical is working.
How do you know the pump works ?

Front wind shield washer not working (back does)

WINDSHIELD WASHER PUMP, USUALLY LOCATED AT OR AROUND THE WASHER FLUID TANK. SHOULD BE ABLE TO PURCHASE AT LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE.

CHECK TO SEE IF THE HOSE IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE PUMP BEFORE REPLACING THE PUMP.

Where is fuse for windshield wiper pump located ? fluid does not spray and no sound from motor. Motor was replaced still does not work. Rear window defogger does not work. Thank You

This must be the fuse and is found under the dash within the car. If the fuse blows out then you must check the wiring to the front washer motor and to the rear.
Disconnect and check the rear and the front washers.
