Loud brake noise in 97 buick lesabre

When you had the drums off, did you inspect the shoes for excessive wear? And How do the drums look? Are they grooved? Can you be more specific about the loud noise. Does it sound like a grinding noise, or a screeching or pulsating noise. Is it lower pitch or high pitch?

My1992olds cutlass supreme makes a knocking noise coming from back rear while driving it stops when I brake a few times what could this be

Your half way there, you have isolated the symptom and area in question. Next step is to raise the rear wheels off the ground, use jack stands in place for safety, remove rear wheels and brake drums and inspect both sides for anything that looks out of place.

Hi. My left rear brake is making a very loud nosie when i stop. The same noise continues once i press the gas but only for a short second.

sounds like either your caliper is sticking or your wear indicator on your brake pads is making the sound.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a Whining noise in my front end area, seems to go away when turning to the left. Also I have a strange clicking noise mainly under braking, but when you have the...

This noise is more likely caused by the iiner constant velocity joint. When turning the axle makes a franction of an angle in which no perpendicular to the ground. You'll gonna need to have it check as there is a possiblity that the wheel drum or axle assembly might come off when driving in high speed to avoid accident.

Rear driver wheel has light reubbing noise when car in motion goes away when brakes are engaged. Is this brakes or barrings problem? Cost of repair?

hi this sounds like your brake pads have worn, or the brake shoes as well, if you have drum brakes on the back it will be shoes, if disk brakes will be pads+shoes (inside the disk) if it was the wheel bearing you would hear a loud humming noise not rubbing noise, is it a metallic rubbing noise or a rubber squeaking rubbing noise? just check condition of tyre on back if it is the squeaking rubber noise cost will depend on where you take it and if you do it yourself, possibly $40 to $50 at a garage/auto shop or possibly $20 to $30 if you do it yourself, this just depends ...hope this helps

Need advice on parking brake assembly/replacement on 2003 F-150 4x4 crew cab. I think this is the problem as I have a clicking sound coming from the left rear.

Pull the drum on the rear left and check all the brake components before you replace anything. Identify what is clicking or if the parking brake is the cause by driving until the clicking is heard and then, while pulling and holding the parking release lever, slowly apply the parking brake and listen for a distinct change in the clicking noise. If it remains the same, your problem is elsewhere in the rear left area.

Brakes makin nosie

Sounds like a wheel hub assembly is bad without seeing it. Alot of GM vehicles have the ABS wheel speed sensors built into the hub assemblies. Should be able to narrow the noise down by driving the car slightly turn left and right noise should change from loud to soft when turning the wheel. ( if you turn left and noise gets louder hub on right front is noisey.Opposite will occur if left side is bad)

1993 Toyota Paseo left rear wheel area souns like a gerbil running on a rusty tread mill? Could this be the wheel bearins and or bushings?

Remove the rear wheel & spin the brake drum. Listen for noise. Next, remove the wheel bearing cover/cap, and remove the drum & wheel bearing. Spin the hub, listen for noise. You either have rust buildup on the interior of the brake drum or bad wheel bearings.
