Question about 1995 Audi A6

Replacing the radio in an 95 audi a6

The radio in my audi is broken and I'm looking to replace it. Now I've been told that I NEED to get a converter for the bose sound. Quite frankly I don't really want to spend 150$ for that on top of spending 200$ on a nice deck. So my question is do I HAVE to get one of these?

Is the only difference digital input thats puting out analog versus an analog input putting out analog? Any help would be much appreciated!

It absolutely could be the immobilizer (security system). Have you ever had the master key? All the keys should work but if one becomes deprogrammed it needs to be reset (unfortunately by the dealer).
But, before you do that...
Have you checked the voltage level of your battery? It could very well be that your battery has enough juice to power all the accessories but not enough to crank the engine. Try jump starting the car or replacing the battery and see if it starts. Let us know if that works.

95 a6 replaced radio with used one from salvage yard and comes on but says safe on screen and cannot tune?

You will need to go the the Audi dealership to solve this issue. The radio needs to be unlocked and without the code the dealer is the only option.

Good luck.

I just got a new battery for my audi a6 quatro

you will need to pull the radio out and get the serial number off the back of the radio unit. then call up your local VW/AUDI repair shop or dealer and ask them to look up the code for you. i had to do this last week with my VW jetta.

I just posted a solution for this problem. It comes straight from the radio manual. The dealer should have told you this. If you want him to do it he'll charge money for his time. IF YOU LOST YOUR CODE. THE DEALER CAN HELP YOU OR IF YOU HAVE YOUR 4 DIGIT CODE: dd43c71.jpg
