Ensure you have "ALL" the wires connected and a fully charged battery. Then use your remote to turn off the anti theft devises and your truck should start with no problems. You may have to switch the anti theft device from your old engine to your new one or take the vin of the new engine to the dealer and get the code for that engine.

SOURCE: how do you reset the anti theft system

Try disconnecting your battery cables then wait about 10 minutes. The computer should reset itself. Reconnect the wires to the battery. It is normal for the theft light to blink about every 5 seconds when the ignition key is out or in the off position. This means the system is armed and working properly. Hope this helps. God bless!

SOURCE: Ford F150 remote key does not work after car battery

Should not have happened,
For the Factory RKE ( Remote Keyless Entry ) have you tried reprogramming the key fobs to your truck. The procedure is in the owners manual ( need all of them at programming time ).
This is stored in NVR, and should not need to be done, but worth a try.

If this is an aftermarket Remote start / alarm, check the owners manual for t on battery replacement. Have seen some off brand with strange battery ( truck's battery that is ) replacement steps.

1992 Ford Ranger truck, manual with 2.3 engine. It will not start. I replaced fuel pump in tank tank.

Question edited for clarity and order 'make model 'stuff'.
    Question moved to model category.

Presumably, you disconnected the battery when you replaced the fuel pump? Did you reset the anti-theft immobilizer and security system?

How can reset the anti theft system on a 99 ford ranger 4x4

To reset the anti-theft system, follow these steps:
    1. You have a little red light on your dashboard-press it to disarm the alarm
    2. Try turning the key and moving the shift from park to drive and back, then try starting it again
    3. Disconnect the battery and let it breathe for 20 minutes and more, and reconnect it, that may do the trick
    4. If all else fails, you may need to go down to the dealership to reprogram the key

2007 ford ranger truck don't know how to shut off antitheft device help

You most likely have a bad chip in your key. When the chip starts flaking out it will put the truck into anti theft mode as if someone else put the wrong key in it. One way that might work to reset this is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes. This will only get the anti theft to go off so you can try again. If your key causes it to activate again then you know it is the chip.
