Question about 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder
I have a 03 eclipse gts sypder and when i bought it, it had transmission problems which i was aware of so I finally got a new transission last week and decided to put it in over the weekend. I thought everything went great until I strated driving it and it suddenly **** and went into limp-in mode stuck in 3rd gear. Everytime i restart it, its fine for about 10-20 seconds then jerks, then right back to limp in mode. We hooked it up and read the codes, came up 43,42, and 44: incorrect gear ratio for 2nd,3rd and 4th. I have read it may be speed sensors but its a brand new transmission. Someone else suggested that the transmission computer had to be reprogramed? Any idea's?
MCARTER859: check the connections where the transmission harness and engine room harness come together. Unplug them and reconnect them I have run into more than one case with the same symptoms as yours which ended up being nothing more than poor connections.
