Question about 1995 Jeep Wrangler

1 Answer

95 Jeep Wrangler air vent under the glovebox will not shut off.

I just got this Jeep (1995 Wrangler) and noticed there is a vent under the glovebox that is pouring in a constant flow of air while I drive. (The A/C vent is set to off) There seems to be a lever to the left of the vent that I assumed would shut off the flow, but I've turned it both ways and nothing happens. So my question is A: is the flow of air necessary and B: if not how do I shut it off? Thanks!

Near the gas pedal is a linkage that diverts the air from defrost to front to low by your feet. Sometimes this linkage comes un-done. This could be fixed by holding it in place with a wire-tie. Let me know what you find.

Try checking the battery and battery leads. Sounds as though you have a bad battery. Also check your fuses under the hood and dash.

Where would I find the heater blower resistor under the hood of a 2002 6 cylinder Jeep Wrangler with factory air?

Generally you won't find the resistor under the hood on Jeeps. It looks like a flat fixture made from the same material that circuit boards are made from and has three or four wires plugged into the center. Look under the dashboard on the box where the heater is on the passenger side. Normally behind where the glovebox is located.
