Check the catalatic converter since the truck has been sitting for several years it is not uncommon for mice to make the exhaust system there new homes. depending on where you live if you have emission checks or not you could cut the cat off the truck and run a flex hose in place of it. but i warn you it is not the most leagle thing to do but it wont matter if your state dosent have emission laws. but if you take it to an exhaust shop after this modification they will require you to put a catalatic converter back on to the truck. i hope this info helps you. and please rate my solution
Thanks

2002 HD 1500 Chevroley 4WD 4 door truck engin lost power and died could start but when acelarated died max rpm 800 pulled filter turned key on pump shot a stream of gas 3 ft and stoped ran only secon

It is normal for the pump to run for two seconds when first switched on to pressurize the fuel system. It will turn on again when cranking and while running. I would still suspect the pump given your symptoms, however other problems could also give you the same symptoms. If it is the original pump from 2002, or more than about 7 or 8 years old, I would definitely replace it, and the fuel filter. Often the pump will go intermittent. I had one that I could restart and get down the road by hitting the bottom of the gas tank a few times!

I have a 1999 suburban with 5.7 approx 186 k it sat for a year due to selector problem in the column and had it replaced with a used unit. after getting it where it would start, it started running very...

Should have drained the tank. Not only was it old gas but it may have had some condensation in it.
Now that you have a Check Engine light, hook up a code reader and see what code(s) are there. Then you can get back here and I'll see what I can do to lead you in the right direction.

88 ford van dies, wont start until after cooling down.

ford use to have a lot of problems with the tfi module or the pick up inside the dist. it is best to replace both or just buy a rebuild or used dist. the module is not bad to change but the pickup can be a hassle.the tfi module is bolted to the side of the dist.usually. not sure what year they changed the location. hope this helps leave comment.

1992 Ford F250 Truck with start and idle problem

Could be many things, Check the EGR valve and make sure its not stuck open, Oil pressure low is probably due to rough idle or low RPM. Also may have restricted cat converter.

Ran out of gas and now she won't run!

i would say that you have a bad fuel pump or if you have a carb on it the float inside the carb is stuck check these and i'm sure you will find it's one of these.
