open hood and listen while helper starts car (someone you trust to keep in park and hold the brake) May be some item driven by serpentine belt has bad bearing starting to fail which quiets down as it heats up.

Engine runs but when i give it gas it does not accelerate only idles

I have had this happen twice. First time was a clogged air cleaner, not the filter, but down in the tube below the cleaner. Mice got into it. Clean it out. Te other time was a collapsed muffler. This was an internal collapse and could not be seen. Both issues had to do with air flow, 1 into the engine, the other the exhaust out. The engine ran, but made a lot of noise. Hope this helps.

Saturn Ion running loud and rough

Check for other loose heat shields.
The shield you removed would allow more noise to enter the cabin too.

Tappets are constantly loud when driving 1993 BMW 318i

How is the oil level in the engine? Have you actually checked that? Also, what kind of oil (and what weight) are you running in the engine, and how many miles are on the car? You may be running oil that is too thin for the amount of wear on the engine parts! oil leaks cause low oil levels!

Loud clink/clanking noise starts only after 1998 Wrangler warms up after long idling and then quiets when placed in park, while setting in driveway. After vehicle sets and cools it is fine. Runs and...

Your oil is thinning out too much. Lucas oil additive would be a great thing for this or an oil change with a little heavier weight oil The other cause of this could be piston slap from low grade fuels.

Why does my neon make a loud noise id rive, after

From your description it certainly sounds like a bearing but since you've changed it I would look at the tire for any chopping or cupping as this will cause a noise that is speed related as well. To verify a wheel bearing as you drive the car carefully weave from one side of the lane to the other. A wheel bearing will change pitch as you change the load on it and usually the bearing that is quiet to the left is the right bearing that is bad and vise versa.

LOUD sounds when braking(99 Corolla)

It is dust/rust and it comes from a low quality or a high carbon metalic brake pad or shoe. this problem can be corrected by using the OE manufacturer parts or the use of Ceramic pads/shoes. However don't be fooled by "Ceramic" on a box, it may just contain ceramic particals and not be a true ceramic pad/shoe. In over 16 years in automotive specialty repair I have found the PD line of the Wagner Thermo Quiet pads/shoes to be the best economical fix or the Top of the line Akebono Ceramic line will fix what ailes you.

There is a loud noise coming from my engine ..sometimes..

oh ok, you probably have air shocks and that is the compressor running... makes sense that it sounds with the engine off... it should not be a loud sound though, normally it's quite quiet and you only hear a faint noise... if it is that loud it's probably a bad compressor
