Question about 2007 Chrysler Aspen 4x2
I had this similar problem but gascap and engine light on. I changed out the gas cap cleared codes and both were back o. Went to the dealer he insisted it was the after market gascap changed in and cleared the codes. Before I even left the lot they were both back on. Finally they found the problem they had to change out some kind of pump and canister and it fixed the problem.

The seal on the fuel cap may be damaged or worn. Inspect the cap and replace if necessary but use a factory cap. I have found many aftermarket caps don't seal as they should and will turn the light on. Turn the key on (engine off) and press the accelerator pedal to the floor 3 times, this should reset the gas cap light.

You will need to get the code befoe anyone can begin to diagnose this, There are about 5 parts that can cause this problems. The gas cap is one of them. If anyone has been uner the hood just pryor to this happening its possible they left a vacuum hose off or maybe broke one.
If this car is really an 07 then this being an emission issue you are covered under warrenty. Take it to the dealer.
