Question about 2002 Porsche 911
When i press the button, top wont go down but i hear a clicking noise in the driver rear side.I think it's the motor for the top,anyways it use to act up once in a great while before and i will drive it around the block then turn the engine off,turn it on again and it works fine.Now it won't go down at all,i notice when the button is press the convertible light is blinking .Recently the driver side air bag in the dashboard lit up,not sure if related to top not going down.Hope you have an answer.

ASE mechanic here:
sounds like a mode door is stuck causing the air flow to go across the heater core only and not the evaporator. try activating the hot to cold functions to may be un stick the doors. if no changes then try a computer scanner, these new cars can have HVAC control codes and be accessed with a scanner, telling you the problem. if no access to that a good European shop is the next best thing. They might be cheaper than a Porsche dealer.

SOURCE: My convertible top doesn't work.
The sensors stop it becos there is a problem,.to prevent further damage. The tops are not reliable, and it could be one of a number of problems. The early cables stretch, then only one side is driven and it jams. The plastic balls (red) alos break or come off. Look at Rennsport technical forums amd you will find the answers you need.
