You have to losen up your motor mount and actually lift the motor up a little ways. now if you do this make sure you block up the motor before you get under the car encase the motor falls. we just did one of these in our repair shop and the one tech tried to cut the corners by not blocking the motor up and the chain did brake. now he is missing 2 fingers on his hand so Be vary carefull while doing this and make sure some one else is with you. Hope this helps you and please rate my solution.
thank you

How do you remove the oil pan on a 1991 cadillac DeVille?

You may have to drop one end of the oil pan down enough for you to put your arm in and unbolt the oil pump. The oil pump hanging down in the pan won't allow you to pull the pan out until the pump is unbolted.

Need to get oil pan out. Its a 95 4x4 yukon 4x4. exhaust out, fly wheel sheild off, oil cooler off, pan just wont clear crank. do I unbolt transfer case and drop it a little or unbolt engine mounts and...

Hi, you could remove the two bolts holding the passenger side front axle tube to the frame, this may give you enough room to drop it a hair, and try to get the pan off. I usually pull the front axle tube off of the axle, and unbolt the c/v shaft, allowing full access, just have to remember that there are some pieces, that could fall out, so be careful. Good luck...Coop

How to change oil pump

You need to drop the oil pan. First remove 2 braces to flywheel cover, then unbolt flywheel cover and remove. You may need to unbolt exhaust at manifolds to get this cover out of there. Then un bolt oil pan. Hopefully you will have enough room or raise engine after unbolting engine mounts 2" is usually enough. Unbolt oil pump and remove. If no oil pressure is your problem you may only need to clean out pick up tube and screen and not have to remove pump. If this is a 4x4 transfer case will be in the way.

Where is the oil pump on 95 buick regal 3.8 engine

It is in the timing cover. Never have seen one that has went bad. 20+ years at a buick dealership. Remove oil pan and clean out the pick-up screen, replace oil pressure sensor and use a ac delco pf47 oil filter.

Where is the Oil Pump located on a Buick Regal 95 3.1 Engine?

In the oil pan, near the transmission end.The aluminum pan on this engine is cross bolted to the main bearing caps, making it a bit tough to get on and off.

Oil leaks

you have to closely inspect the motor and the gaskets, the intake gasket often leeks oil, as does a head gasket, if you cant find anything on the lower end of the motor neaqr the pans, that would be the things i looked into next
