Question about 1994 Ford Ranger Supercab

Turn signal problem

On a 1993 Ford Ranger 2wd, I have a left turn signal problem. I have changed bulbs and flasher with no improvement. When left signal is selected (headlights off), I get flashing lights front and back but I also get a weak signal to front right turn signal and a weak signal to the right back emergency flasher. In addition to these 4 bulbs flashing, I also get the digital time indicator on the radio flashing with them (this doesn't happen with the right turn signal selected). If I turn the headlights on, the turn signal stay on steady until turned off with the selector.

After finding out that the extra lights were all minor circuit lights, I looked for a connection between my left rear turn signal and the tail lights. I found that connection in a bad TAILLIGHT CONVERTOR for my trailer connection was bad. Disconnected the trailer wiring harness on the truck and everything returned to working normal. Problem solved!

Diane, There are 2 separate flashers on your vehicle, one is for the emergency/4 way lights and one flasher is for the signal lights. It may be worth the couple bucks and replacing the signal flasher as a first step. Recheck bulbs/sockets, fuses/relays, flasher. If all looks good possible signal switch is bad. Remove switch and try to clean contacts or replace switch. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.

the fuse box is inside the pickup under the drivers side dash, there is a flasher which is the round one in the fuse box, it controls turn signals and emergency flashers also in the same fuse box, there is a 15 amp fuse which controls just the turn signals it sits vertical instead of horizontal.
