Hi, I just had my spark plugs along with my thermostat replaced. About 15 mins later my check engine light came on letting me know it was a misfire. I have a 2005 Pontiac G6 v6 and the service codes are p0300 and p1626. I really want to know what the cause could be.

The most likely cause is that a spark plug lead has become detached.

SOURCE: Code P0300 on a 2002 Pontiac GP with misfires on #

try switching one of the other coil packs with one of the bad ones. if this works then there you go. another way of telling if it is a coil pack is to disconnect the spark plug of the affected coil pack. if its a strong coil then you will hear the spark as well as see it. compare it to another plug boot that has the good spark. it sounds to me that it is a coil pack. i just changed one about 2 months ago with the same problem as yours.

Did u have engine codes scanned? If not, have it done, as it may indicate the problem. Let me know. (most parts stores will scan for codes free) .

Engine light flashing on and off, runs rough when accelerated. really runs rough. can;t drive very far afraid it will break down. I live 20 min from the nearest parts store.

Hi Sherri,

A flashing (check) engine light might be due to a direct engine misfire. This may be a Type A misfire due to the flashing engine light. This can be severe and can cause "mechanical damage" to your car. It can ruin your catalytic converter, though you might also want to have your spark plug and spark plug boots checked to see if they should be replaced as well.

It would be best to bring your car to a mechanic and have it checked.

Thanks,
Lyza

Hyndia Santro 2000 check engine light is continuously ON. Please he

First, have your ignition timing checked. Have also your EGR checked. if this (EGR) is not functioning properly, engine will lose power. If your engines has a distributor, checked for cracked cap, excessive play in the distributor shaft, and other damaged components. You may want also have your ignition unit and coil checked. Don't forget to inspect the spark plug cables.
For the high idling speed, have it adjusted to specification and look for sticking throttle linkage.

CHUGGING ALONG WITH FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT....???? 2002 FORD WINDSTAR WHERE TO BEGIN

A flashing Check Engine light means you have a ignition Misfire, start by replacing the spark plugs and spark plug wires, one or more is defective. If you have a electronic engine control fault code reader the cylinder or cylinders that are misfiring will set a fault code, the codes are P0300-P0306, the last number being the number of the cylinder ( cylinders 1-6) the computer has detected a misfire in.

My check engine light is on and the code is reading p0304 what could be the problem

You have a Misfire at Cylinder #4 meaning:
Dirty, fouled or malfunction Spark Plug at #4 Cylinder. Remove the Spark Plug and check the igntion (spark end).
Ignition (Spark Plug) Wire malfunction for #4 Cylinder.
Misfire from the Coil/Distributor at the #4 connection from Cylinder #4.
Get a Spark Plug/Wire/Coil/Distributor tester and check the Spark Plug, Wire and Coil.
I always recommend changing everything in sets meaning: Change all Spark Plugs and Wires.
