SOURCE: mitsubishi lancer glx 2003 battery discharge

If you disconnect the ground terminal of the battery can you see any sparks if you touch cable to the - terminal?

If you can, go to the fuse panel by the drivers left knee and remove the fuses one at a time. Each time you remove a fuse touch the battery cable to the - terminal and see if you have a spark.
Doing this will enable you to find the circuit that is drawing the current from the battery.

Hope this helps Good Luck Loringh PS Please leave a rating thks

Check the IAC valve...or sometimes known as an electronic choke. That valve is how your engine gets air when the throttle body plate is closed. If the valve is stuck due to malfunction or carbon build up then it will cause that problem, and give you a rough idle at best.

SOURCE: Battery dies in one week. Alternator or short? '94 Mitsu. 3000GT

Battery drain is a Classic sign of a bad Alternator voltage regulator. Typically internal to the Alternator. Assuming that your are not driving the vehicle for a week and it then drains the battery. If not, then possibly a bad alternator anyhow. I believe that 13.6 volts is the correct charging voltage from an alternator.

The fuel gauge level of my mitsubishi outlander 2008 cannot be seen. What can I do?

The same thing just happened to me this morning. When I tried to start my car it wouldn't turn over and was making a few different clicking noises. All the electronics were working but, the car wouldn't start. Turns out the battery was starting to fail. I had the help of AAA and their battery tester to tell me that was my problem. After we popped in a new battery the problem was fixed. I recommend getting your battery tested before getting a jump. If your battery is going out a jump may temporarily solve your problem but leave you stranded somewhere.http://www.siemensplcbangladesh.com/

Brand new battery and alternator but keeps turning off. I have to keep jumping the battery. What's wrong?

Check the alternator output with a multimeter. You should get14volts out of the alternator (I purchase brand new alternator and sometimes there no good), it happens, check the big wire coming out of the alternator, if you dont get at lease 14volts it's no good (it's got to generate more than 12volts).good luck.

2004 mitsubishi outlander won't start. Checked the coils and they are not recieving electricity.

If you fitted a new battery which drained overnight, that points towards a discharge somewhere in the electrical system. The battery charge is finding its way to earth somewhere.

One of the usual causes of battery discharge is a faulty alternator - the diodes in the rectifier pack (usually attached on the end of the alternator) burn out, allowing the current to run to earth.

Disconnect the wiring from the rear of the alternator and charge your battery and let it stand overnight, with the alternator wires disconnected.

If it starts ok in the morning, that's pointing towards a burnt out rectifier pack.

Other causes of battery drain - well - they can be caused by anything in the electrical system including the instrument cluster.

There will be sensors on the throttle body. Check the wiring on the sensors. If you're getting an error code that's suggesting you have a sensor problem.

If the engine cranks but doesn't fire - it's a sensor at fault, usually. Though it could also be due to a broken or corroded wire to one of the sensors/ECU.

If the engine doesn't crank that points towards an earthing problem. Check the battery cables for security and corrosion - particularly check the black earth cable where it attaches to the engine block.

Where are the spark plugs located on a mitsubishi outlander 2004?

spark plugs are under valve cover. Each plug has its own coil pack module. Plug is under this. Be ware, factory plugs may have to be ordered ( $ 15 - 20 ea.) , depending on parts stores in your area. here in Canada, some stores had wrong computer listings for all brands of plugs for this car!! The factory plugs are NKG Iridium, and are longer than conventional plugs!! I'm about to change mine ( 160000 KM's).Looked at plugs cpl mths ago, didnt look too bad. Hope to get another 160 K's from new ones ! Good luck .!
