Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

I have a 1996 Blazer that does not get fuel! Need help!

I have a 1996 Blazer that does not get fuel. It ran fine and then sat for about 3 weeks and wont start. I put in a new battery and checked the fuel filter. It turns over just fine. I have heard the fuel relay is in the glove box and I also heard it is the engine compartment ( of which I cannot find the fuses in the compartment). I have listened and I don't hear the pump kick on when I turn on the key. Any ideas? Thank you!!!

Car wont start. took a fuel injector out and put the same one right back in and it ran for 2 days fine now wont start again, what is the problem?

A possible fuel pump pressure issue. You will need to have a garage check the fuel line pressure. The engine requires more fuel on cold start and a failing pump may not be able to cope with supply. This may also be apparent at high revs, but not as apparent as cold start.

Assuming you have everything reinstalled correctly and the fuel pump was your problem to start with, try disconnecting the battery for at least 15 minutes to reset the computer. This worked on my 1996 Blazer.

Ran out of Gas in '96 Chev Blazer

the fuel pump motor is lubricated by the gas in your tank
when you ran out it sounds like the fuel pump motor seized and is stuck there. There is a little known thing that will get the pump unstuck if it's not burnt up .
take a hammer,yep a hammer,
have someone hit the bottom of the gas tank while someone cranks the engine, don't be afraid to hit it hard you want the fuel pump to feel the hit and loosen up,make sure your tapping the tank and not the metal strap that holds the tank up! That should get you going,

1999 blazer wont start??

Your battery is either faulty or ther is a parasitic drain, have it checked out at parts house. With a good battery installed, spray some starter fluid into intake housing. If it starts, then dies, you have fuel pressure/delivery problems. Can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn on the key? Hope this helps.
