SOURCE: dash lights

possibility of a dimmer switch malfunction, did you check all the fuses under the dash and also under the hood. check thuroughly because you might have missed one.

And where your dimmer switch is, us a stanely knife on the corner and it should pop out.. peice of cake, the dimmer has 2 wires in it so you can take a volts tester to see if it gets current when your head lights are on. Alos if it is getting current only on 1 side you can bypass it for another test by just running a wire from both points.

Does your other dash peices light up like your ac controlls and your clock?
if so it might be part of the dash cluster has just burnt out, bulb wise and 3-4 screws around the cluster and it pulls out also. All hondas are like legos and they come apart Very simpley.

If it isnt either of those, then you might have a bad MFS witch is shot for multi function switch and it is the lever that controlls your lights. Its expensive to replace though and is a hastle to remove from the steering coloum to test.

Get yourself a volts, oms tester and check the dimmer switch 1st.
if thats alright then test with the wire.
if thats alright then check the back lights behind your cluster for burtn out bulbs,
and if all that looks good your down to the fuses might just look good, and the MFS

hope that narrows it down for you

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Replace heater core for Honda Accord 1992 LX 2.2L

It's probably the valve in the cooling hose that lets coolant flow into your heater core. This is up against the firewall about 3/4 of the way down on the passenger side. When you switch the knob from warm to cool, you should be able to see the little "arm" on the hose move back and forth. You may need someone else to watch as you move the temperature knob back and forth.

Also, watch out for over heating (not due to the valve), because it could mean that you could need to replace your water pump and/or thermostat in the near future. If you haven't replaced your timing belt recently (or if you have) and didn't change the water pump at the same time (Honda recommended) Your water pump could be failing.

Odds are pretty good though that it's just where the cable connects to the valve. It may have rusted over time and stuck, or broke the end of the cable, or just need lubricating/bending back into place.

If this is not the case, then you may just have a clogged heater core and should have your coolant system thoroughally flushed in the near future. If none of these work, you may need to replace your heater core.

Drop me a line when you check these over and I'll see what I can come up with.

SOURCE: heating in my 95 honda accord

Here's my list! 1st-check coolant level, if it's low, u won't get heat. 2nd Is engine reaching operating temp within about 5 minutes or a little more? If it is running below the normal level, the thermostat may be stuck open, not allowing the car to reach operating temp, again, no heat. 3rd dash control not working to turn on heat. The heat control is vacuum operated, so if there is a leak or kink in the vac line, it won't work. (not too common). Many cars (I'll have to check on the 95 accord) have a heater control valve in the heater hose line under the hood near the firewall. Sometimes the valve just gets stuck in the closed position, so again, no heat as the hot coolant can't circulate into the heater core.4th plugged heater core. Corrosion, rust plugs up the heater core, coolant can't circulate, no heat.
Start w/ the easy cheap fixes, work your way down, let me know if u need more info. and how u make out.

SOURCE: Honda Accord EX 94 vss has been replaced, but still nothing work

If all the connection and power supplies to instrument cluster are ok,I suspect that the speedometer or instrument cluster is faulty but before you replace it, make sure the gear inside the transmission that drives the VSS is in good.

Replacing heater coil on 1994 honda accord

Replacing the heater CORE ? Drain the cooling system disconnect the heater hoses under the hood at the fire wall then remove the glove box inside the car . then remove the heater box as a whole unit . Take to your work bench now seperate the the unit and remove the heater core.install the new core and reinstall every thing that you took out in reverse order . This is a 5 hour job and if you are not a technician i would not recommend trying this with out buying the work shop manuel for you to follow step by step . You can buy one online at a book store or a parts store . The Chilton manuels are the best in my opinion . Good Luck

I need diagram and/or directions for removing the dashboardon a 2000 silverado to replace heater core

Just replaced my heater core 2000 silverado not a quik job but u can do it.Took alot of patience and about 10 hours of time.Just completely take the dash apart layer by layer.First thing is the trim around radio and controls just snaps out.Piece under wheel just snaps out also. You will see all the small screws that have to come out to disassemble the next layer.Pull out the radio, heater controls, air bag switch unplug them, just remember the wire routes maybe write them down on paper.Pull out the vents. The whole top dash cover after unscrewed;lift up alittle and pull back it just slides back from under the catchers near the windshield. You will also find a couple bolts on each side of the door with pins for alignment to take out with door open. You look up under the air bag assembly there will be a bolt on each end take them out.My airbag switch was OFF!unplug wire hareness here also.U will encounter a few wire harenesses to unplug as u go.There will be 2 flat u shaped pieces u dismantle that holds the dash covers on a bolt in each end.One on each side of dash.YOU WILL SEE the black airways that run to vents runs the width of dash this will lift out.I did not take the steering wheel off BUT it may be easier if u do I just tried moving the dash sections out of my way and worked around them resting one end on the pass seat. The big reinforcement piece of steel I unbolted from the pass side and just slacked the bolts up on the other end near the wheel so I could move it back and up alittle. You will see a cover to the right of center with 2 screws this is heater core cover but there isn't room to get it out.U will look under the hood behind center of engine on the firewall there will be 3 bolts to get out.IF you have air conditioner it's on the left side looking in there is 3 bolts here to take out and you also have to take the 2 nuts off the air conditioner unit and step back let it LEAK SLOWLY.Now you should be able to pull the whole air heater box unit back and down enough to get the core up and out of the slot.I done this alone but when it's time to line the air heater box up and slide back into place it's real frusterating should have a friend and probably a 12 pack during the whole ordeal! While I was dismantling everything I didn't figure I would ever get it back together but I surprised myself it wasn't that bad.Hope this helps.

Got heater core need to put it in,want to now how to do it the right and fastest way

In order to replace a heater core in a 1998 gmc jimmy the coolant must be completely drained and the entire dash including radio, vents and panel covers must be removed. four screws hold the top portion(closest to the windsheild) in place. they can be found under the windshield defrost vent. after the entire dash is removed a safety harness under the steering column must be removed and the steering column must be dropped to the driver seat. The heater core housing(black plastic) is located right center of the dash and is a two part housing one piece on top of the other. the housing is attached to the fire wall and must detached before replacement can continue. after detaching the housing from the fire wall separate the housing by unscrewing the six screws that hold it together. the heater core is now exposed. disconnect the heater core from the two hoses and discard. installation is the un installation process in reverse.
Good luck, it is a very long and drawn out process that is not accomplished in just an hour or two . make sure you have most of the day or several afternoons to finish . i started this and it took me 2 afternoons to take apart and put back together

94 Accord, heater blows cold air, car revs at idle once warm

Although I think your right about it being the heater core, I don't know where it is and I can only offer help with your idle problem. It is your idle control valve, it is a very common problem in Honda's.
