little hard to swallow, that you just put in a NEW air filter ( hopefully correct size ). HOW did you determine PREVIOUS fuel mileage, as to what MPG your vehicle is now getting ?

New fuel pump, new cap, plugs and wires, clean air filter. My 98 Jimmy sounds like its missing, it boughs down. Mass air flow regulator? Fuel regulator? Also using a lot of gas lately.

You are right, all of the symptoms are pointing to a fuel pressure regulator. Also try inspecting your vacuum line going to your fuel pressure regulator.

O have a 96 Jimmy starts if u poor gas down it but will only run half throttle give it more and it cuts out change fuel filter what else could it be please help me

Check your fuel pump. Take the gas cap off, have someone turn the key to "run", and listen. You should hear the fuel pump humming for a few seconds, and then stop. If you don't hear a humming, you will likely need to change the fuel pump.
New ones are a ridiculous price for that truck. Try an auto wrecker. Let me know how you make out.

K1998 gmc jimmy 4 wheel drive truck cranks but getting fire, when it did run it smelled like gas strong

GMC Jimmy's have a record of corroded fuel lines at the fuel pump in the fuel tank. Cycle your key from "Off" to "Run" a couple times then look under the vehicle in the fuel tank area to see if there is gas dripping.

How many more miles do you have when the fuel light comes on?

Depends on a lot of factors:

1. Gas mileage of your vehicle. If you get excellent gas mileage, 50 MPG +, you can go quite a way. But with a 98 GMC Jimmy, you're probably getting 19 MPG at the best.

2. How you drive your vehicle. The gas mileage means nothing if you are street racing and redlining your vehicle through every gear with the low fuel light on. You definitely won't make it very far like that!

3. The make and model of vehicle. There is no set national standard for when the low fuel light illuminates on a vehicle, so they vary greatly anywhere from half a gallon remaining to 2 gallons remaining. In newer vehicles, the ECU actually takes into account how you drive the vehicle and what speeds you typically go as to when to turn on the low fuel light.

For your specific application, I would say it comes on when you have roughly 1 to 2 gallons left which means that as long as you are driving in a fuel conserving manner you can probably make it about 30 miles or so before you'll be running on fumes. But that should be plenty of time to find a gas station right?!

Hope this helps!

Daughters jimmy turns over but won't start

listen very close, when the key is turned to run you should be able to hear the fuel pump run for 3 seconds or so ,also every time you "bump" the starter the pump should run for 3 seconds again..
Fuel gauge is wired with the pump power. May be easier if someone listens at the fuel inlet with the gas cap off.(takes 2 people)

My GMC Jimmy wont start

do you have any spark? this could be associated with timing. but, it could also be the computer(s).

just food for thought if you did: on some vehicles, you cannot just add a stereo amps and such electronic items that demand a high burst of energy, because it will mess with the computer/wiring (grounds and draws).
