SOURCE: how to fill transmission fluid 1999 isuzu rodeo ls
Lee2fixit doesn't know what he talks about on 99 Rodeos.
There is no dipstick tube - there are two access holes on the side of the transmission. The bottom one is to drain it out. The top one is to fill it back up. It is full when the fluid comes up to the bottom of the top hole.
Or you can take it to a dealer or service center to have it done.

there is no holding tank......on the trans pan there are 2 removable pluck.....the one on the bottome drains fluid......the one higher up on the pan is where u add .......truck has to be running in park and level......has to be warmed up and idling.....remove upper plug....when fluid dribbles out its full.

If you are under the car, find the oil drain pan and look toward the rear of the car. There you will see the transmission pan that has two bolts in it. On will be higher than the other. The higher one is used to check/fill the transmission. The fluid should be filled high enough that it is just starting to come out of higher hole when the car is on level ground, that is when it is full. You need to make sure that you run the car and move it through the gears and you should be able to get a little more fluid in there. Obviously the lower bolt is for draining the pan. Hope this helps!
