Question about 1989 Ford Thunderbird
89 thunderbird, i've had it for about 8 or 9 months and i've gone through three alternators. the belt is probably still factory, if not, it's seen better days. i guess my only thoughts are either an electrical problem (possibly shorting out somewhere and shortening the life of the alternator) or not enough tension on the pulley somehow causing it to burn out? thanks
Have the battery tested most parts stores will do this for free, autzone and kragen both do, yes a low battery burns out Alternators very quickly, also buy the Alt repair connector from Ford and replace it, this most likely is the problem, a poor connection at the Alternator, that to destroys the Alt quickly..
