Check the door hinge pins and make sure they are fully seated. Also check the hinge pin bushings - they are made of bronze and if they wear out, the door will droop

99 Lincoln Town Car I replaced the drivers door and the left fender The door does close there is a large gap between the left rear door and the drivers door please help me with the right alignment

There is no magic way to make all this sheet metal fit correctly other than trial and error and a lot of shimming of parts to correct alignment, that is why body shops charge so much for their services Sorry but have tons of experience in this type of work so absolutely know what is what here. I know it is a pain in the rear, but keep at it, you can get the parts to fit right with a lot of patience and hard work.

"automatic" window on my 2005 mustang does not

So when it doesn't seal that means the tracks the window have been falling out typically. The door panel needs to come off to inspect the tracks. And if your driver side power window doesn't work, that typically means a seperate problem located in the switch itself. It could also be the wires, so you can run a seperate wire to test the switch by running it directly to the window motor, and pressing the switch down. This can easily be done while the door panel is off so you can hit two problems at the same time.

Oh! Its 1988!!
  • Check whether the fuse is blown in the fuse box
  • Probably the motor is dead
  • Open the door panel
  • Buy a motor depending on the model
  • Fit it yourself
  • good luck

My right window(2002 Convt. Mustang) will go up and down if i open the drivers door completely open. If I start to close, window will not work. It appears when the door is open wide the short closes and...

This is a common problem with power windows. Everytime the driver's door is opened and closed the wires in the harness between the kick panel and door frame get bent back and forth, and eventually they break. You'll have to remove the rubber boot the wires reside in and visually check to see which one is separated. The bad news is that there's little room to work in, and the cure is to solder the wire back together and tape it.

Had to replace driver side door on regular cab 1500 truck. Used a door from wrecking yard. The door fits fine when closed but you have to lift the door to close. Are there any adjustments to adjust the...

Yes there are. loosen the mounting bolts on the frame. They are hard to get to. You should be able to lift the door a little then. (Unless the entire door is dragging and that should not be the case). Probably do not want to loosen the bottom unless you have to. You should be able to raise it with just the top loosened.

Driver's side door not latching / closing

pull the outside handle and unlatch the latching assembly by hand by insertins a screwdriver where the striker would normally be if the door were closed - and pry out.

You can adjust the striker by loosening the bolts, and moving it in toward the cabin.

If the door itself is droopy, adjustments are made by the hinge by loosening the bolts and lifting up or down.

Multiple attempts will be necessary to get it just right.

Dont get frustrated if it doesnt fit properly in the 1st or second attempt.
Good Luck!!

93 mustang car door doesn't

Sounds like the door may be out of adjustment. Check first that there nothing is getting in the way of the door closing area such as the seat belt, and that the door seals are in the correct position. If all checks ok there, Then the door striker witch located at the "B" pillar ( body area direct behind door ) needs adjustment. I recommend finding someone with experience doing this as it will require the use of a impact driver to loosen the adjuster But if you have access to this tool then MARKING where the adjuster is before adjustment is a good idea as a starting point of reference. The adjuster need only be slightly loosened to adjust and will move not only in and out but up and down. good luck and have a happy holiday season Kam
