Question about 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD

03 chevrolet silverado brake lights will not work.

I have checked all fuses and they are good. The brake light on the cab works. All of the tail lamps are good. Every other function works. It has a trailer hookup also. All of the plugin connections have been checked. I checked the brake light switch and it is working.

I have the exact same problem... cabin light works, but brake lights do not. I changed fuses and no fix, when I hit my alarm button the brake lights light up, but still don't when I step on the brakes.. I checked wring too and all is good... is there some kind of lead comming off break pedal that might be bad?

Turning signals and brake tail lights not work

If the center brake light works but not the others, and the bulbs are good, the problem is usually the turn signal switch.

2001 S-10 No Tail/Brake Lights

Hello Dallas,

There is a possibility that both bulbs are burned out or the paste that GM seals the lamps sockets with is preventing a good connection between the contacts.

Remove the bulbs and test for power (with the brake pedal depressed or the running lights turned on.)

If your multi meter reads voltage, it's the lamps, if not...check for continuity on the brake light switch (connected wires removed.)
The headlight switch controls the running lights, the brake light switch controls the brake lights. Good grounds are also critical so make sure they have clean solid connections.

check for power at the actual bulb socket for brake applied and also check for ground . If not check for a boken or damaged wire check connection at trailer as well for P and G. may not be recieving input from brake light switch

01 chevy silverado tail lights problems

I had the same problem. I swapped two of the same relays for the stop lamps under the hood in the fuse box panel. The problem went away. Apparently the relays stick some time.
