Brake switch located on upper portion of brake pedal and has retainer that needs removed,unplug switch install new one the same way removed old one.

Yes the problem could be else where, but first get a volt meter and remove the tail light housing and with the meter have some one step on the brake and see if you get voltage.

replace the turn signal switch in the column.its also known as a multifunction switch. you have to remove the cover around the steering column to access the switch. The brake light wiring also goes to this switch.

Chevy S-10 brake lights stay on all the time


The brake light switch is located is located under the
dash, at top of the brake peddle.
To test the sw, use a 12v test light check for constant power out of the switch, with nothing else on. If there's pwr. out replace the switch.

Brake light stays on after replacing brake line and bleeding


You may need to do a code scan,this will reset the computer and reset any codes if the brake problem has been taken care of.Autozone Shucks/Kragen/O'Reilly's will do this for free.
