Can't locate the oil pressure sender unit on 98 chevrolet C1500

I have a C1500 1998 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 305 5.0. I unable to locate this, My truck idles or fires but does not crank. I think the fuel is not reaching the fuel fuel pump. I just replaced the fuel pump relay and still nothing. Also do you know what the voltage is supposed to read. Mine is reading 5. Hopefully someone one can help me narrow down my problem. Thank you.

Where is the location of the oil pressure sender on a 2014 awd Chevy Equinox?

The AWD Equinox has two model selections (LS & LT) and two 2.4L engine options (K2.4L FI DOHC & the K2.4L Flex Fuel DOHC.)

Information on the Equinox engines oil pressure senders location is difficult to find on line so all I can offer in the way of help is to say that It will be on the engine block connected to the ECM (engine Control Module) with a single TN/BK (Tan/Black) wire lead.

The Oil Pressure Sender is a distinct looking unit that is sold by Autozone and they provide pictures of the various makes which should help you identify the units location on your engine block.

3800. Where is the oil pressure sending unit located?

I'm not familiar with your vehicle. However, an oil pressure sender unit is usually located on the block, below the cylinder head.

it's more often than not a screw - in unit which may have a brass appearance and have 1 or more electrical wires coming from it.

Here is a link which will show you generic images of sender units:

They are -usually - just screw-in items. They are not difficult to change.

Where is the oil pressure sensor on a 1995 Chevy Truck? V-8, 5.7 L. I have the new one, just can't find the one I need to replace.

If you go to a parts store, I prefer CARQUEST, they will gladly print up a schematic or just show you where it is if that is all you need.

Z71 high oil pressure

hi,

normally the engine will start cold and have about 60 lbs and as it gets warmer the pressure will start to fall and should idle at about 35 or 40 lbs. you also could have a bad oil pressure sending unit that is giving you a false reading, along with possibly a bad wiring connection or gauge in the dash. first thing is the sender and the connector to check.

Oil gauge is stuck all the on high, after starting the engine

Sound like a posible bad oil pressure sending unit . It is normal for pressure to be above normal just after starting . At a cold idle , the oil viscosity is higher than it would be if it were warm . If the guage is reading really high for longer than normal ( after 1 minute of cold idle ) then I suggest having the sending unit checked .A sevice center can check the sending unit on or off the vehicle as well as checking pressure with an actual guage for more accurate readings .

2008 1500 suburban, pickedcar up after getting tires replaced, on way home oil pressure dropped and low oil pressure warning came on. Stopped checked oil level it was ok. started car was back at 35 to 40...

If your sending unit is one wire, unhook it from the sender and place a jumper wire from wire to ground. Turn ign on, gauge should pep high PSI. Two wire plug, place jumper between contacts of wires (unplugged). Same thing. What this does is isolate the gauge. If gauge pegs on test, replace sender. If it does it again with new sender, it's the pump. But it's probably the sender.

Oil pressure guage on a 96 chevy truck

sounds like you still have a wire harness problem for the oil pressure sending unit. if you spliced a new pigtail to the wire harness you may still have a bad connection or there is still a damaged wire farther up in the harness.

0il gauge keep reading low pressure

Either you have low oil pressure , or the gauge or sending unit is not working. Oil pressure on my 94 is quite low at idle , but higher when reving. quickest ,cheapest, easiest, first thing to do would be repalce the oil pressure sender unit.
