is the pressure really low? have you hooked up a test gauge? very likely the oil pressure sender is defective.

Probably 302 (5.0L) if not 3.8L v-6.
Anyway, fresh oil & new filter is a good place to start, then a little running down the highway may help loosen things up a bit. You can try adding a bottle of lucas, or similar, but personally I don't use that stuff. After sitting that long, oil will be pretty contaminated, so do that first, then I'd do it again after putting some miles on it.

My 92 eldorado has a ticking sound when car drives the noise came out no where from the passager side is it my oil pump it gets lounder when gas is apply

What is the oil pressure when ticking starts? How many miles on engine? How often do you change oil? What oil do you use? What brand filters do you use? Is this a Northstar engine?

High mileage Northstars (and others) will have tappet noise as they wear. You might try adding a quart of Marvel Mystery oil at next oil change, but if low oil pressure is the problem, try changing to a slightly thicker oil, say 20-50. If you don't know what the oil presure is, install a mechanical guage. I had a freind with a low pressure problem on very high mileage car who began using straight 50W oil and car ran another 3 years/60K miles before dying.

If the fuel pump(s) run while the pressure is falling, replace the fuel pressure regulator and (although I'm sure you've already done this), replace the fuel filter. If the fuel pumps appear to be turning off by themselves, replace the inertia (fuel cutoff) switch.

Does a worn out dodge stealth oil pump make a ticking sound. I also have a low oil pressure being indicated in my gauges in the dash

If the gauge is reading low oil pressure - I would change it regardless if it was ticking or not.. I have never heard one tick..

The ticking could be a lifter (or something else) not getting enough oil..

Rate well ;o)

The fuel pump circuit goes through the oil pressure sending unit. If the unit thinks the oil pressure is too low, it will shut the fuel pump off. Make sure the oil pressure unit is correct for your vehicle. If you disconnect the harness at the sending unit the truck won't start and run. You can try re-seating the connector on the sending unit again. Check the terminals in the harness connector, make sure they are tight.
Let me know.
