Question about 1997 Cadillac Eldorado
Its underneath intake manifold between the heads.

I have had to replace one in my 95 STS, I am not a mechanic but I do easy stuff, starter, no problem, 4 bolts, 10 min, NOT. It is listed as a four hour job, my neighbor helped me. The starter is located on TOP of the block, UNDER the intake manifold. Will need a gas line tool! What a pain, and then we had to do it all over because they gave us the wrong starter!

well some people like where it is and some don't! i do on my 1997!, i assume u have a 4.6 engine? if u do the starter is under the intake manifold,on a 4.9 engine it is under the car on the left side facing the car, these can be a paine.,go to your local auto supply store and pick up a auto repair manual for your car,by Haynes, good book to own. the 4.6 starter is not that bad to tackle, hope we helped and good luck to u.

In a valley under the intake. I belive you have to remove the heads to change it. They are a nightmare on these engines. It was a very bad place to put a starter.
