Question about 2002 Lincoln LS
I have a 2002 Lincoln LS with a V8 3.9 engine. When I am
driving randomly you can hear the fan roar and the temperature gauge goes
to max but the car is not really overheating. Then the engine goes into a
"get home" mode. When I turn off the car and turn it on, everything goes
back to normal. I had the car at a Ford dealer for 4 days and they said
that it may be the coils (a coil may be failing) or alternator giving off
radio waves but could not fix the problem. Have you heard of this
happening? Also, could you please tell me how long it should take to check the coils and alternator
If it was me i would checkout the temp-sensor by the thermostat housing and it should not take longer then an hour to checkout the coil and the alternator also make sure the car has the right amount of cooling in it if it does not have sometime the car will ask this way too. you may want to try this website to see if they have you car listed if they do it may show you how to test it yourself it www.autozone.com nice car you have.
