1992 honda accord 182k on it, car stumbles driving down the road every now & then, i replaced the ignition switch., and then i read on hear about wiggling the key when it acts up, which seems to correct the problem, is it possible that the key assembly is wore out? There's nothing electrical in the assembly is there? Thanks for your help Troy

I should have mentioned, I've changed out the following items, with new ones from AZ: the ignition switch, & the ECM, doesn't make any difference. Could it be as easy as a fuel filter, but wouldn't that be all the time? Thanks for your help

Well a bit of good news, seems there was a after market alarm on it that the mechanic found with a bad 5amp fuse, why that fixed it I have no idea, but starts great now. As for the stumble, mechanic replaced the o-rings in the valve cover that surround the plug towers, that helped, another guy suggested changing the PCV valve so far so good. I will let you know want happens over time. Thanks for all your help!!

All is well with the Honda, starting problem was a fuse in after market alarm, why it would start sometimes, I have no idea replaced fuse & starts great. As for the stumbling problem, changed plugs & wires, cap & rotor & took care of the problem. Thanks for all your help.

It may not be the ignition switch at all. If the stumble happens around 1800 rpms, it could be carbon build up in the EGR ports. The Dealer would be able to help with that.

Why does my car try to die when i drive down the road?

Try to check the ignition coil, when you driving it become hot then the car dies end won't start. After awhile when it's cold, then it will start. Replace the ignition coil.
I hope it solves the problem

92 honda accord lx dies when put on brakes at a stop

Sounds like your timing belt is one tooth off on the cam, this I have seen before especially if it is a twin overhead cam. One tooth off will make it idle really low when stopping at the light especially if the engine is warm.

I have a 1991 honda accord had it since feb. and just about everytime i start my drive after it has sat for awhile it will hesitate going down the road/highway,after a few miles it stops doing it and...

that is a very good posibilty of the fuel filter because when you let the vehicle sit the sediment in the filter will settle to to botom of the filter and when you drive the car you are disturbing the settlement getting it to float around. Please rate my solution and thank you
