I have 2006 chevy equinov 3.4l awd. When i push on the gas it will run fine for about half a mile then it starts sputtering and sounds like backfireing and jerking and stalls out.

What is year--make--model?
How long since a tune-up?
If you think it is fuel issue, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. There are some other tests you could try, but, too much liability, I can't be responsible for your safety.

While driving car jerks when car is changing gears

How many miles on engine? If engine has over 100K on it, you may want to invest in a tune-up. If a tune-up has been done recently, is the check engine light on? If the MIL is on, check for service codes. The code can direct you in the direction to a proper repair.

1999 COUGAR 2.5L AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS DELAY SHIFTING

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

My 1999 lincoln town car jerks when driving i have already had a tune up and it still jerks

I would replace the spark plug wires, they are a known problem on this car and not replaced with any tune up unless you specifically asked to have them replaced.

Mercury cougar 1999 engine 2.5 having trouble...when driving it drives jerking back & forth & was given a code P0708

YOUR RANGE SENSOR IS BAD! IT WILL BE A BLACK BOX LOCATED ON TOP OF THE TRANSMISSION! THERE WILL BE A NUT ON TOP OF IT, AND A PLUG GOING INTO THE SIDE OF IT! IT TELLS THE COMPUTER WHAT GEAR YOUR IN, SO THE COMPUTER CAN COMPENSATE FOR THE SPEED AND TELL THE TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT!

Car randomly jerking when acclerating

It sounds like its a coilpack. Its hard to say whick one, but it can have hot fire running slow. Then when the demand go's up and running faster it fails. So it might be a little expensive but I would go ahead and replace all of em. Prob lesss than 100 tho.

1998 toyota camry started jerking a bit and now

If your losing compression then I suggest doing a compression test and then following it up with a wet compression test to determine whether the problem is in the valves or pistons.
Wow one tune up in 122k miles jerking not really an ignition thing more like a fuel thing. If Compression test results are good then do a full tune up even replace coil packs or distributor ( which ever is applicable) and replace fuel filter.
These vehicles are not known for major engine problems (blown engines bad valves etc).
Big with transmission problems if its a 6 cylinder not the 4 cylinders.
