Question about 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee
When i start the car it seems to struggle moving off in drive. I have to put the car into first gear then once it has been in first gear for a few seconds I can then put it into to drive and it is fine. Each time I have to stop or slow down I have to go through this action. If i just leave it in drive it just crawls along. Apart from this the car is fine.
Your transmission apparently is not downshifting properly. From your description, it sounds as though it is in 2nd or 3rd gear, which is why it is slow to accelerate. When you shift into 1st, it is starting off in 1st gear as it should. You probably should have a transmission shop check it out. Check engine light on?

Those have coil spring suspension at all four corners. If the springs are weak it can give you a bit more body roll than you'd like to see. Make sure you have four good quality shocks as well. In extreme cases you may want to install the police version of the sway bars on there which are generally larger in diameter and offer more roll resistance as well.
