Question about Chrysler Sebring
Shocks and Struts are 2 very different things that do the same job but in a different way, a Strut is a combination of a shock and a spring into one unit that is part of the steering, the Strut takes the place of the upper ball joint in conventional "A" frame suspension, to change a Strut the front end alignment must be disturbed, that is why u need an alignment after a Strut replacement, also there is about 4 times as much labor time involved in switching out Struts compared to onventional shocks. The price u were quoted does seem high, I show about $60 each for Monroe Strut cartridges, and you are looking at 4 hours labor, so here the job would go out the door for about $550-600 (California)
