Question about 2004 Honda Accord

Remote starter on a 2004 Accord with V6 engine

My 2004 accord came with a remote starter. If you press the lock button on the remote fob twice, the engine will start as against the beep indicating the vehicke is armed.

I have these questions:

1. Does this remote starter allow you to drive the car without using the key?
I tried this once, but once I tried inserting the key into the ignition, the engine stopped and had to use the key normally. I have not tried again (Bought and took delivery of this car about 3 months ago)

2. what purpose does this remote starter serve if doe not allow driving without the key

3. How can I remove this remore starter option and return the normal functionality of beeping?

Thanks for your expetise advise.

Remote starter is designed to shut down the vehicle if there is no key to drive with. This is a security feature so that unauthorzed drivers cannot steal it. to answer second question the purpose of remote starters is to allow you to heat up the vehicle so it is an ice cube when you are ready to drive. Not sure what remote I cannot answer the horn question. Need more on what remote starter you have model number and make

If you unplug the connectors into the remote starter then it will no longer be connected.. If you want it fully removed I suggest taking it to a professional. the remote starter cuts some wire and use devices like modules to bypass security (these are little modules vehicle specific) if they are unplugged and the origional wires not reconnected then the security system will not recognize your key and car will be disabled. make sure when unplugging the remote starter that you don't unplug anything that has bypass or honda or transponder written on it.

Remote control has stopped working. Have tried changing the battery of the remote control but that did not work.

Does the red light on the remote light up when you push any of the button
if no, replace remote
if yes, then try repograming the remote to the car again.
-Have remotes' ready. if you have two then fob#1 and fob#2 (doesn't matter which one is #1 or #2)
-each step has to be done within 5 sec or it will not work, but don't do it super fast.
1.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
2.turn key off
3.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
4.turn key off
5.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting)and push "lock button " on fob#1 once and release
6turn key off
7.turn key just to the "on" position (not starting) and push "lock button " on fob#1 twice (if you only have one fob, then stop here and go to step 8)and push the "lock button" on fob#2 twice.
8.turn key off and remove key from ignition.
if you did it right, remotes' should work again.
good luck

Doors not locking (but unlocking is okay).

The only time my doors don't lock with the remote is when a door is open. If your problem is mechanical it wouldn't unlock. Might be a sensor thinking a door is open. Does the other functions with the remote work like rolling the windows down or hitting the lock button flashes the light ? I can't lock my doors from the inside with the remote.
