Location of on board computer

Can you advise the location of the on-board computer on a 1994 Nissan Pick up which (supposedly) is able to decipher engine codes? Thanks

Thanks old Marine for the advice. I found the computer and it shows code 33 (Oxygen sensor) and code 34 (Knock sensor) faults. Are these repairs imperative or can I continue to drive it without breaking down on the highway?

Under the seat on the passenger side. You'll need a manual to find how to get into the proper mode and then interpret the codes, which are series of flashing lights.

The oxygen sensor fault generally means increased emissions and may affect your gas mileage. It's something you can live with for a while. The knock sensor should probably be replaced soon, especially if you can hear the engine 'rattling' when accelerating or climbing a hill, etc. I doubt that you will break down, but it's hard on plugs and valves (high temperature) to let it go too long.

1994 nissan pickup 4x4 2400 where should the rotary point when at top dead center

Do you mean the distributor pick-up rotor? If it is and you are referring to the number 1 piston, the tip of the pick-up rotor should be a little bit pass the #1 contact terminal of the distributor cap. The tip should be exactly at the terminal when the piston is at the specified position before the top dead center (BTDC).

Im getting a code 51 from the on borad computer on

Do you mean P0051??

If you do, then it's an issue with one of your O2 Sensors.

You may have a short in the heater circuit in the sensor
The O2 sensor heater has failed
The wires connecting the sensor are broken or frayed

Most likely you will need to replace the sensor.
The sensor is Bank 2 Sensor 1
Bank 2 means it is located opposite of where cylinder 1 is (not sure where cylinder 1 is on your car) and Sensor 1 will mean it's the sensor located before the catalytic converter
