Question about 2001 Ford Escort ZX2

1 Answer

Engine swap with two Ford Escorts.

I have two ford escorts that i want to do an engine swap with. The problem is, one is a wagon SE, the other is a zx2.

The zx2 has a blown motor. The timing belt snapped and the pistons are now a part of the cylinder head. So my father who has the wagon, said I could have the motor out of it. His has a automatic, and mine has a standard.

My question is, will the 2.0 spi 2000 fit where a zetec DOHC sat, and will the transmission link up?
