I have just been told my 190E mercedes fuel distributer is worn where do i find this part on the engine. and where to get a second hand one

Have you checked your OVP relay? They can be troublesome for sure. It's located behind the battery under a plastic cover. It'll be the tall relay with the aluminum housing, has a fuse on top, check the fuse first. If the fuse is good then pull the relay and give it a shake, it's not supposed to rattle, good sign it's bad if it does. Sometimes moisture can get back there and cause corrosion to the relay pins and connector. If it pulls out hard then I'd suspect to see some corrosion, most all mercedes electrical connectors are silver plated and turn black when oxidized. If so clean it up by lightly scrubbing with a scotch pad. I've had problems with them before and had luck repairing them myself by removing aluminum shell and reheating all the sauter on pcb carefully. If the printed circuit board looks burned in any way there's a possibility that the electronic components may be toast. May be easier to buy a new ovp relay but they can be pricey. The OVP relay is one of a few possible culprits to your issue, best case scenario imo. Worse case your cylinder compression is too low. Could be a cold start valve issue too. Hope this helps.

It is a problem with the fuel pump relay behind the battery firewall. Replace this then you will be OK.

1992 190e mercedes won't start? never had any trouble with it b4. its got spark. and i can here the fuel pump. and there is fuel getting to the fuel injector distibuatior.but not cuming out of the fuel...


it sounds like your fuel distributer is clogged. Replace your fuel filter. first you can try to bleed your system. take 12mm. wrech and loosen up you lines(one at a time) and crank your engine over(with a battery charger)and force your fuel bubbles out of the lines. while the engine is cranking and the line is loose knock on the line with the wrench and you will probably see a whole buch of rust poor out of the loose fitting. do thius repeatedly untill engine fires off-then with engine running loosen up your lines and repeat if any lines loosen up and there is no idle change that means that cylender is not firing and your injecter is not working. These mechanical style injecter's take alot of pressure to open the poppet valve to spray fuel.hope I have been helpful

hi,best thing to do,install a pressure gauge,you can see the pressure of fuel while starting your engine,maybe one of this is defect, fuel filter,fuel pump motor and fuel accumulator,also check your rubber seal on injector,you can check your spray pattern of injector before replacing,ty

Lift the hood. Just below the screen, opposite side from battery, you'll see a plastic cover shielding the engine management, abs control box etc. If you search around there after removing the shield/ cover you will find a relay with a fuse plugged into the top of it. This is the pump / system relay.

AS far as i understand it your air flow meter only controles your idle, not your air/fuel mixture. The mixture is controled by the Air/fuel mixture body that sits immidiatly below your fuel distributor. it has a 'tower' that reaches up to a hole in your aircleaner so you can get to it with an allenkey. To set the mixture correct it needs the aircleaner on. that screw changes the pivot point of the arm that gets depressed by the large round disk visual if the aircleaner is of. This is not a throttle butterfly, it mechanically 'measures' the airflow by being sucket down and pushing a plunger upwards into the fuel distributer increasing the amount of petrol to the injectors. You say gas as a supplement... I assume you mean Hydrogen Fuelcell. Because if your trying to 'add' instead of replacing with LPG or Natural Gas you will have a problem as LPG for example needs to ignite earlier. For example if the petrol engine fires at 6 deg BTC on petrol, than converted for LPG it needs to fire at 16 deg BTC on their original plugs (newer plugs are available that allow for an acceptable setting suitable for both fuels but all i everseen when petrol was still present when switching to LPG is an 'engine bay' fire)... But assuming your talking Hydrogen fuel cells as a supplement to try and reduce your fuel consumtion than the element that could create a problem for you is the Lamda probe (Oxygen sensor) in your exhaust as it may think that your fuel mixture is to lean and tries to increase fuel through the cold start injector or the electronic pressure regulator on the fuel distributer. I hope this will help you somewhat.
