Question about 2001 Daewoo Leganza

1 Answer

On the front part of the exaust, there is a small box. On the box is a hole which runs almost around the box. I have patched the hole with exaust sealant about three times now, but the problem is, when the sealant hardens, it breaks off whenever I go over a hidden pothole or drive on rough terain. I cannot afford to go to a repair shop as I have been layed off. I could not find a breakers yard that has a Daewoo Leganza 2000cc CDX 01Reg. exaust front. Can you help please?

You could try using a muffler bandage instead of putty that will not come off

Water leaking unto front floor carpet when driving through rain

Check around the edges of the windshield for any place water could be forced into the car. Especially if the windshield has been replaced. Check around the cowl that covers your windshield wiper motor. Remove the cowl if possible to check for rust holes or separated seams in the metal. The blower motor intake for the cars HVAC (heater) is often under this cowl. Make sure water isn't getting in through there. If you find a leak around the windshield or a separated seam, some windshield urathane or clear bathroom caulking would work. If you find a rust hole in a non visible place affix a tin or metal patch over it using rivets or your choice of fastener. Welding is the best method. Then cover the patch with short strand fiberglass bondo or something else to seal out water. If you have a hole in the floor you could put a patch on it with rivets or weld, then tar the underside well and put rocker panel coating on the top.

I have water leaking on the passenger floor board when it rains and I can't find were it's coming from.

Check the seal around your interior air filter. The seal can come off at one corner and allow water to run down the firewall and into the passenger side.

Broken exaust pipe

This isn’t that easy. Most of the so called “high temp epoxies and glues” will not take the temperatures. If you can find some “muffler patches” that have the high temp cloth. You may be able to wrap it around the break. Then you will need to get some wire to tie the cloth tight like the wire ties on a bread loaf bag.
