Question about 2002 Hyundai Accent
I have a 2001 Hyundai Accent. The previous owner has changed the rims from the original 13 inches to Racing 14 inches. The manufacturer specified size for Rim size 14 is 185/60 however when I purchased the car, they had 175/70 size which is the manufacturer specified size for the Rim 13s.
I'd like to change to the manufacturers specification however would like to understand the pluses and minuses of doing so.
I've been using tire size 175/70/R14 on my 2001 Hyundai Accent. I've recently realized that this is the specified size for a Rim diameter 13 and the correct size for the Rim 14 is 185/60. The 175/70 is significantly cheaper than the 185/60, what are the advantages / disadvantages of changing to the manufacturers specification.
My 2002 Accent has the original rims which are R14 rather than the R13 specified in the owner's manual. Yet my speedometer is factory calibrated and gives the correct speed readings at all speeds (compared to my GPS navigator's indicated speed). I suspect that R14 is correct for your car and that Hyundai forgot to update the owner's manual.

Well the one your using is slimmer and taller there is no disadvantages actually the advantages is you can turn wider from left to right and it is more soft driven because it is taller.
