On some cars by winding down the rear window too far the wiper blades slip over the edge of the glass and hold the glass down when the window is trying to wind it up. Check and adjust the rest position of the wiper arm first. Try not to by pass a sensor as it will cause more problems for you . Instead fix the fault first.
one excellent tip for anyone with electric windows. always wind the window down to the last. the reason is if someone is leaning on the window talking to you it puts strain on the rails causing the window to go up crooked or even stick on the way up. also check the plug between the door and the car as if they come loose it wont work.
Some caliper pistons are the wind back type. You will need to buy a special tool to wind the piston back with. Usually fairly cheap . The Pistons usually wind back in a clockwise motion. Hope this helps.
if you go to the dealer they will copy the mech manule it you ask them as they want you to get frustrated and take it to them
so go on and ask and if all else fails take it to them or goto local parts store like auto zone they can preint it off too
dealer is best bet though
i started by removing ashtray and the screw underneath. it would be easier to remove rear seat as access is not so good to move around. wind window down, then carefully pull from top of trim, it should come away fairly easy. the trim is held on by push in clips but you need to careful as they break easy. behind the inside door handle is a plastic backing plate which i found easier to remove first. now the outside handle can be undone and i simply pulled the cable and the door opened. the cable was broken where it joins the handle so a new cable is needed.
I am assuming you have power windows, more than likely your power window motor regulator needs to be replaced. But first your window could have came off its track, to check to see if this is the case (the easy way): 1. inspect the window make sure it doesn't appear to be visibly crooked or cockeyed 2. hit both the front and back of window with the palm of your hand forcefully, but not hard enough to hurt yourself of course :) 3. check to see if window will go up and down now 4. if this doesn't fix it then it's time to replace the power window motor regulator, unfortunately this isn't a job for the average joe (especially if he doesn't have the appropriate tools) so you'd need to take it to a shop
