Question about 1994 Honda Accord

A/T wont shift upon starting engine....needs engine rev-ups.

Hello gentlemen,
I own a 94 accord with a 4 speed A/T. Upon starting the engine, the A/T won't immediately respond if i shift the tranny to D4 or even to R (reverse). For me to be able to go to work and leave the garage, is that I rev up the engine several times until the tranny shifts to D4 or R. After a few minutes of driving, the tranny works just fine. It can drive for several miles and hours and hours of cruising without any shifting problem. When I let it sit for a while, engine off, same problem occurs. Is there anything I can do first before I take the car to the repair shop? My D4 shift indicator in the dashboard is blinking continously. Is this a fluid, filter, solenoid, gunk problem?

rev limiter at what rpm are you doing for the shift light to come on ----your over revving the engine to high and the truck kills power if its doing at regular rpm then possible faulty limiter in 98 they removed the limiter and put a speed limiter 94 mph and the pcm would needed to be programmed or to remove it same thing

My brother has a 94 Bronco, we had the same problem upon installation of the new transfer case motor. In our case, all we did was liberally coat all moving parts of the transfer case motor with grease.

It will shift out of overdrive upon increasing throttle , pulling hills and so on. Your overdrive probably kicks in around 35 to 45mph and kicks back out as you increase throttle. Electrically controled speed sensor to control the response. Overwise the engine would bog down to a stall. Over drive is just that. It changes the gearing ratio to over drive meaning less then final gear 4 to 1 down to 4 to 3 etc more direct drive ratio to lessen consumtion of fuel with less stress on engine. Have shift speed sensor adjusted. Don't drive in overdrive in city if most driving is under 45mph

Engine speed hunts on idle. Auto trans slow shift.

The fast idle valve is inside the throttle body. Sometimes it backs out and needs turned back in (it's threaded). This will cause the loping idle.

Get transmission filter changed with new fluid. Honda does not recommend transmission flushing.

No tranni downshift upon heavy accel

Hi, two possible issues here. the first could be a malfunctioning shift solenoid. this can affect the shifting operation. the next issue could be the transmission control model(TCM). if this fails, you will experience abnormal shifting during up and downshifting. I would check these areas as well as the fluid level as well. Some transmissions are sealed and you cant check the fluid level. if you have a transmission dip stick visible, please check the fluid level before you check the other areas.

please rate and god bless.

Dodge Durango Transmission Problem

Code 0753 means Transmission 3-4 shift solenoid or transmission relay circuit problem. The PCM (engine computer) is seeing an incorrect input electrically for the gear or speed it should be seeing. You will need to find a qualified transmission shop to diagnose the problem. Possible causes for the trouble code start with worn/dirty fluid, electrical repairs & transmission overhaul.
