Is it true that GM is taking all 1997 to 2007 Impalas out of circulation because of electrical burning problems?

If there is a recall, it does not mean that they are taking the vehicles...what it means is that they are doing a free repair to a part or system that has a problem...Check with any dealer and they can put your vin# into their computer and it will tell them/you if you need to have that service done, as well as any others still outstanding on your car.

Clicking noise in dashboard

More than likely its the blend door motor, they have plastic gears inside, one tooth broke off and when it gets to that spot, starts clicking. The blend door, is behind the glove box. This is a problem with a lot of impalas (GM products ) Good-Day!

Why would both low beam headlights go out at the same 2009 ex35 infinity

NHTSA issued recall number 14V755 to address Low Beam headlights being extinguished. GM stated the problem is the headlight delay module (HDM) may not operate in the thermal environment of the underhood electrical center. GM has not issued a fix as yet. Here are four ways I know of to correct this.
1. Have a spare HDM and replace at the first flicker of trouble.
2. Install a heat shield to wick heat away from the electrical center.
3. Install a cooler (fail open) thermostat and run the ac constantly. The ac turns on an additional cooling fan.
4. Loosen the cover on the electrical center to allow air (and dirt) to circulate.

Engine keeps running hot. changed the thermostat. there also seem to be a leak at the back of engine near the heater hose

The impalas had a class problem with the lower intake manifold gasket leaking due to problems with the Dexcool coolant and the gasket material. There was a class action settlement/recall issued for these vehicles. You may fall into this trap. Check with your dealer to see if your car has had the service. Since the GM bankruptcy. you won't be able to get a free fix, but you will be aware of the issue.

How do i stop car from smoking

I'm assuming you mean smoke from the exhaust pipe. That depends.....white smoke or black smoke? Black smoke = oil burning. That would be due to engine wear and mean internal work needed. White smoke = coolant. Impalas had problems with the lower intake gasket leaking internally or externally as a result of the DexCool coolant breaking down the gasket. Replacement of the intake gaskets is the fix for that problem.

Abs & trac light stays on

This issue is probably a wheel speed sensor fault. If you go to Autozone or O'Reilly auto parts they usually scan your car for free. It's probably the right front sensor (common) get it checked anyway. Hope this helped. Please vote for me...

2001 Monte Carlo Fan Problem

The electrical contacts in position 1 and 2 of the fan speed control switch have worn out, go to your favorite Chevrolet dealer and order a new fan speed control switch, get it from the dealer so that you know you are getting true GM OEM parts not an aftermarket part that won't have the GM quality, it may cost a little more but you will be ahead in the long run. Good luck !

I have a 4t65e transmission and it is shifting hard after running for a while. I checked the fluid level and it is way over full. What would cause this and is there an easy fix to this?

not really, the EPC (Electronic Pressure Control) solenoids hang up in these with wear/higher mileage. Very common problem. The cradle needs to be removed from the vehicle and the cover needs to come off the side of trans to access the solenoid.
This trans and problem is related to the GM minivans, Impalas, Regals, Gran Prixs, Bonnevilles, LeSabres, Intrigues, Azteks, Rendezous, ....
Alot of vehicles!!
