you need to check for fuel pressure next.
Could be many things, but a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator would be prime suspects.

Why there is no powere supply to the fuel pump on subaru forester

How CRANKSHAFT Sensor can cause this. The Car needs a Reference Signal to operate the Pump. If there is no reference Signal, then you will not get the Pump to Stay on.

I would start with the Fuel Pump Relay and Fuel Pump Fuse FIRST...

The gas tank leaks on a 1998 Subaru Forester

You most likely & unfortunately will have to remove the fuel tank
to find a rusted steel fuel tubing or rubber hose that leaks

Removal just to get acess to the area that leaks

I doubt the tank leaks & if it does you buy a new one
from a dealer,so save your money

It could be just an "o"-ring that seals the fuel pump

My 1999 forester had been sitting for 1 ran fine when parked, now it starts but wouldnt keep running.i unhooked fuel line and turned on ignition fuel comes out for 3 to 4 seconds then quits.a dealer...

The fuel should only come out for a 3-4 seconds that is because the pump shuts of due to no resistance (safety reasons) the ECM thinks the fuel line has leaked and cuts off the fuel. But -----the question is that your vehicle shuts off on its on I would change the spark plugs, wires, air filter and fuel filter and then you should be fine.

I have a 98 Subaru Forester and the engine fan constantly runs, even when you first start the car. What could it be?

The fan relay is stuck it must be replaced or the coolant temperature sensor for the fan is faulty, I would replace the relay first.

Would need to know more. Did the 'check engine' light come on about the time you first noticed this happening? If so, have the code checked for diagnosis. I would suspect FUEL TRIM error (or similar) in the computer compensating the fuel injection when the car is put in gear versus in Park or Neutral when cold.
