car shuts off while driving and appling brakes. some say it is the maf sendor how ever this model does not have one, what it does have is a map sensor so i bought one at autozone for 52.00 and put it in there. going less then 2 miles car stalled out again and did not restart had to have it towed back home. before i changed it i could restart the car so now what could it be. i have spent over 500.00 trying to fix this from a mechic. plus 52.00 more this is a chevy lumina euro 3.1 L. this car is at 137,000 miles and is still dtroung when running.. so please help

Does this model have a EGR valve ? if so this will cause you to stall at stop signs and hard starting if it gets stuck open .. also check all vacuum lines under the hood .. just a thought for you to check thanks Jerry

wow have you tried to put the car in neutral when stoping, If it does not stall you should check your t.c.c. solinoid. (assuming that you have an automatic trans.)
